Haraella Retrocalla is a miniature epiphytic orchid with a very fragrant bloom. The orchid is native to Taiwan and therefore also called Taiwan Fragrant Orchid (香蘭). Haraella Retrocalla is very rare in the US.

It grows the best when mounted on tree fern or cork. However, using a pot is a recommended way if the environment is very dry.

The orchid arrived a month ago (promptly and impressively well mounted and well packed) and was moved immediately into our orchid cage. A small spike has begun to swell at the tip, and I am looking forward to seeing this plant again. I had one many years ago but lost it in a house fire... sigh. I'll attempt an update when we get a bloom.
